How to use the Rubric Generator

The Rubric Generator turns an assignment description into a 4-level marking rubric with concrete, observable descriptors and a score column.

Step by step

1. Describe the assignment in a sentence or two — what students must produce and how.
2. Choose how many criteria (4 is standard).
3. Press ✨ Generate and review the descriptors — they should be observable behaviours, not vague.
4. Print one per student or one per project for marking.

Tips

• 💡 Force a criterion in the notes: "One criterion must be about teamwork".
• 💡 Hand the rubric out WITH the assignment — students do better when they can see the target.
